Quasar, a global B2B medical device manufacturer is looking to hire a NPI Engineer who will join our NPI department at Dongguan, China.  This position will report to the NPI Team Leader.

As a successful hire, you are expected to support the NPI programs by developing new processes and lead the transfer of the new products to mass production, at the agreed quality levels, by collaborating and engaging with cross-functional teams.

  • To enable new products to be successfully transferred to mass production, use lean techniques and tools in the development of manufacturing processes and tooling for medical devices.
  • Participate and contribute in the DFM and PFMEA processes to ensure that new products are robust for manufacture & assembly.
  • Perform process verification and validation trials to determine and evaluate process repeatability & stability for new products.
  • Develop Work instructions, process flow layouts and carry out operator training as and when required.
  • Provide visibility to NPI Team Leader of any H&S and technical issues that could inhibit mass production and escalate any other issues as appropriate.
  • To ensure product quality, yield and cycle times are within expectation, Oversee and lead the requirements for any sample builds.
  • Coordinate and facilitate production readiness reviews in line with Quasars NPI process.
  • Any other tasks assigned by the NPI Team Leader.
  • A college degree in Engineering, Science, manufacturing or related subject.
  • Varied experience of launching new products into manufacture using a phase-gated approach.
  • Excellent track record of accomplishment in implementing substantial improvement activities within budget constraints and challenging timescales.
  • Good understanding in the use of lean and quality tools in a manufacturing environment, including but not limited to structured problem solving, Six-Sigma, SPC, 8D, 6S, Kaizen, DfM & DoE.
  • Skilled at using Auto-cad, MS Office, MS Outlook and MS TEAMS platforms/packages.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, problem solving, analytical and lateral thinking skills.
  • FDA, ISO 13485 and medical device knowledge would be advantageous.
  • Good command of English (written and spoken) preferred
