Alex Wallstein is an experienced senior executive in the medical device industry including positions at Danaher, Medtronic, and Johnson & Johnson. Alex received a BS in medical computer science from the Ruprecht Karl University of Heidelberg; a Master of Engineering from ETH Zurich; and an MBA from the University of Chicago. He also worked in strategy at McKinsey & Company. Originally from Germany, Alex spent most of his professional career in the US and held long-term assignments in China. Alex is dedicated to the Mission of Quasar serving customers with the highest quality products while scaling the business to meet customer expectations.
Dr. William Chen brings with him nearly three decades’ experience in financial and business management at various high-growth companies owned by private equity firms, local family businesses, and multinational corporations.
Dr. Chen earned his doctorate in business administration from Curtin University, Australia, and an MBA from the University of South Australia. He is a Chartered Global Management Accountant, Fellow Chartered Management Accountant, a Fellow Certified Public Accountant in Hong Kong, and a Fellow Certified Practising Accountant in Australia.
Aviel Bohnik joined Quasar in 2016, after a decade of experience in supply chain management positions and as site director in the automotive industry in China. He established, maintained, and streamlined three manufacturing sites in China and Thailand, two of them for Quasar. Previously, as a Program Director for Quasar, he boosted cooperation with Quasar customers, receiving repeated recognition in the role of strategic supplier. Mr. Bohnik is now in charge of Quasar’s global operations across multiple manufacturing sites. He holds an M.Sc. in industrial engineering, MBA, and B.Sc. in industrial engineering & management, all from Tel Aviv University.
For over 15 years, Mr. Guarino has successfully established and led businesses and partnerships, managing P&L, and developing new projects for Fortune 500 companies in multiple fields. With a passion for innovative business models, he’s helped grow Quasar since 2018. He holds two engineering degrees as well as a global executive MBA and engages with our customers to deliver the medical solutions of tomorrow.
Mr. Hazan holds an MSc in Electrical Engineering from the Technion in Israel and brings extensive experience in R&D and Product Development. Mr. Hazan’s previous position was with GE, serving as GM and Haifa site leader, leading all GE Point of Care (POC) ultrasound development. Prior to his role at GE, Mr. Hazan was CEO of Trendlines Labs, a design and development company, launching several medical device start-ups. Leading up to these roles, Mr. Hazan served as GM at Biosense Webster Israel and spent 10 years at KLA, a cutting-edge high-tech semiconductor company based in California and Israel.
Ellen Tan has over 20 years of Human Resources experience and has held various leadership roles in local establishments, international conglomerates, and global multinationals. Ellen has well-rounded knowledge in the full spectrum of HR functions and has served several corporate offices, business groups, manufacturing facilities, sites, and countries across several regions. She has successfully led organizations through joint ventures, divestitures, business optimization projects, restructuring exercises, union negotiations, and employee relations. Ellen holds a management degree from the University of Technology Malaysia, majoring in Human Resources.
Mr. John Mullin joined Quasar in 2021 with over 20 years of experience in contract manufacturing and supply chain management working for companies such as Guidant, Boston Scientific, Accellent, and Greatbatch Medical. Mr. Mullin holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Minnesota as well as a Master of Business Administration from The Carlson School of Management.
Shlomi Rom joined Quasar in 2013, following 10 years with PCB Technologies. Mr. Rom brings with him an in-depth knowledge and understanding of the business, in operations, sales, and marketing. He served as overseas sales and marketing manager and production & planning Manager at PCB Technologies. Previously, he was a business consultant for companies in a wide range of industries. He holds an industrial engineering degree from the Braude Institute and an MBA from the University of Haifa, Israel.
Mr. Xu is Quasar’s Asia Pacific BD and Sales Director with 20 years of working experience in the medical device industry. He has worked in a commercial role in companies such as Siemens Medical, Mindray, TE, Creganna, and Q Medical. He holds a degree in mechanical engineering and an MBA.
